Traumatic Brain Injury Training
Project Description:
The traumatic brain injury training program includes working with the Trust Training Cooperative and utilizing community members to meet the training needs of the TBI workforce.
The purpose of this project is to support the development and delivery of training to Trust beneficiary providers, State of Alaska grantees, educators, vocational specialists and caregivers working with people who experience brain injury.
In order to meet the intent of this project the Trust Training Cooperative will address the performance measures through the following strategies:
Performance Measure #1: Provide training to 5 ?TBI content experts? to use standard course development strategies (e.g. CE, Academic Credit), use of distant-delivery options, and use of the learning content management system. ** A content expert is someone who has expertise in a subject. Expertise may be gained through personal experience, working within a particular field of practice, or through formal or informal education.
Performance Measure #2: Develop ?Introduction to Traumatic Brain Injury? in conjunction with Direct Service Specialist Occupational Endorsement Certificate (DSSOE)
Performance Measure #3: Pilot Course with 10-15 Trainees/mentors from around the State
Performance Measure #4: Provide 10-15 scholarships to participate in Introduction to TBI course.
Overall evaluation
? Increased capacity to provide on-going brain injury training and mentoring
? Content experts gained skills in their ability to develop and delivery of training through a variety of delivery systems
? Pre/post survey to measure increased knowledge in TBI
