Project Description:
Cherish the Families (CTF) will serve Broward County families with children, birth to five, whose families are affected by substance abuse and/or HIV/AIDS; and are in the child welfare/dependency system, or at risk of entering the child welfare system. The goal of the program is to use a collaborative, integrated system of community-based, coordinated support services to identify at-risk families and link them to appropriate, comprehensive services that will stabilize the family and prevent the abandonment of the child, facilitate reunification, as appropriate; or keep at-risk children (who have not been placed in the dependency system) from the child welfare/foster care system. The University of Miami?s Mailman Center for Child Development (MCCD) will serve as the program evaluator.
