Project Description:
The LEND program provides interdisciplinary training to approximately 70 long-term trainees each year. It also provides more community continuing education to more than 7000 individiuals per year, and more than 300 episodes of technical assistance. The training program occurs in a robust clinical environment that provides services to more than 15,000 children per year. The project is carried out in collaboration with many local and state agencies, but a strong contributing funded partnership has been established for more than 25 years with Children's Medical Services of Florida, the State Title V agency. A partnership in perpetuity has been established with the United Way of Miami-Dade through a large philanthropic gift. This permits translation of center-based programs and training opportunities to community partners. The LEND program has been instrumental in developing a training curriculum in local and legislative advocacy.
