Project Description:
This project is part of a needs assessment to learn how to improve the physical activity and nutrition of adults living in Hennepin County in HCBS Waiver funded group homes and day training and habilitation settings. Hennepin County Public Health is the lead agency for this effort. Consultants from AED assisted Hennepin County to develop observational protocols to assess the food and physical activity environments in group homes and DTH settings, and to craft statekholder interviews with foster care staff, DTH staff, IDD Advocates, and State and County aging and disability staff. ICI assisted in developing interview protocols for adults with IDD. A total of 30 interviews were conducted including 5 done by ICI staff with adults with IDD. In addition, ICI staff partnered with Hennepin County staff for site visits to approximately 7 settings. ICI also assisted in reviewing the data and preparing final project reports.
