Project Description:
Individuals with disabilities are over-represented among the chronically unemployed and underemployed due to a variety of factors, including a dearth of prevocational educational programs that are strengths-based while accommodating individuals? learning needs.
The CHOP Career Path program evaluates youth with disabilities, offers work trials within various departments at CHOP, and helps them find employment at CHOP or in the community. The program was recently funded to recruit and serve CHOP patients with chronic illnesses and/or disabilities who are unemployed or under-employed.
