Project Description:
The Partnership for People with Disabilities partners with people with disabilities and others to build communities where all people can live, learn, work, and play together. We provide interdisciplinary preservice training, promote community services through training and technical assistance, conduct research and analysis of public policy, and disseminate information. The Partnership works across the lifespan and across many disciplines. Employees work within a team structure, which is organized by ages: early childhood, children and youth, and adult. Current initiatives include work in early intervention, positive behavioral supports, assistive technology, personnel preparation in early childhood and severe disabilities, maltreatment of individuals with disabilities, leadership education in neurodevelopmental disabilities, respite care, training and technical assistance to schools, whole school improvement with an emphasis on including students with disabilities, training and supports for individuals with deafness and deaf-blindness and their families, newborn hearing screening, family support, self-direction, juvenile justice, and inclusive child care.
