The IOD is providing some salary support to assist in the creation of this parent -directed organization. Based on and inspired by PLAN in Vancouver, BC, FPNNH is the one parent driven statewide initiative geared toward creating an organizatin and structure to support education for families and social networks for individuals with disabilities. The organization is forming with parents who have been through training in Vancouver with the support of several Area Agencies. Meetings are held monthly to establish by-laws, write and submit grants for funding, and file incorporation papers with the state. A full board aand executuve officers is expected to be formed in summer of 2003. Once that is in place, an executive director and office support staff will be hired.
