Personal Assistance Services and Supports Grant

Fiscal Year:

Project Description:
The PASS project is two prong: training for Direct Support Professional building provider collaborative regional training teams and a Direct Support Professional recruitment campaign. There is a crisis in the recruitment and retention of quality direct support staff needed to provide supports to people with disabilities. The Bureau of Labor Statistics has identified that the need for support staff will increase by 140% over the next few years and the pool of people most likely to be a Direct Support Professional will decrease by 40% over that same time period. With funding from the Arkansas DDC, Partners has developed a training curriculum that we will conduct statewide while working with local providers to create and support regional training teams. In collaboration with Arkansas Division of Aging & Adult Services, we will conduct a statewide recruitment campaign for Direct Support Professionals linking interested workers with potential employment opportunities in their area.
