Project Description:
Project Title: Project Heal
Project Desription: Project Heal is a community-based program which addresses the many needs of children exposed to trauma and their families.
Project goals/objectives/activities: Project Heal provides training to psychology interns and post-doctoral fellows, mental health treatment, consultation and advocacy for children exposed to trauma and their families, abuse risk reduction education for children with developmental disabilities and their families, and research on trauma prevention, assessment and intervention with children.
Outcomes anticipated: Mental health treatment provided to children exposed to trauma; training of advanced psychology trainees in the impact of trauma on children; increased capacity of mental health program staff to address the sequellae of trauma among child clients; evaluation of abuse risk reduction program for children with DD; technical assistance on trauma intervention for children with and without DD.
