Project Description:
The University of New Mexico, Center for Development & Disability (CDD) will develop and conduct a pilot course for first responders which will enable them to effectively deal with people with disabilities in the hours and days following a natural or man made emergency or disaster. The project includes course development, development of student workbooks/resource books, as well as a trainer's manual. The University will also conduct a pilot course of first responders who will be involved in the evaluation process. The end result of the pilot project will be available in a traditional course format as well as an online version.
