Project Description:
The Center for Persons with Disabilities is one of four collaborators that support a grant to the Community Abuse Prevention Services Agency (CAPSA). The partners, which also include Options for Independence, and the Division of Services for People with Disabilities planned systems change activities targeted to improve services to people with disabilities. Activities will include writing a collaboration charter, narrowing the population and service focus, conducting a needs assessment, and developing a strategic plan. In years two and three, the strategic plan will be implemented. To date, a collaboration charter has been written and discussions have occurred around narrowing the project focus. Technical assistance has been provided by the Vera Institute for Justice who made a site visit to the project in May. In addition, project staff attended national project meetings in St. Louis MO in November and Louisville KY in May.
