Arizona Sonoran Border Conference on Disability
Project Description:
The Sonoran UCEDD will organize a bi-national conference to describe and develop strategies around border issues affecting the health and well-being of people with DD. This project, is directed at to ensuring that Southern Arizona with its' large hispanic and spanish speaking population and its border communities have the programs, services and supports people with developmental disabilities need to be fully included in the life of the community. It will include a delineation of currently available resources, expanding skills, disseminating new knowledge, best practices, and public policy to support effective transitions from childhood through adulthood for people with developmental disabilities and their families, and improving services to individuals who have developmental disabilities and their families who live in rural communities and along the border.
