First Steps in Perinatal Depression Training Project
Project Description:
This project will expand and enhance the First Steps Perinatal Depression Training Project to make it more culturally appropriate for underserved ethnically diverse low income pregnant women, especially those from African American and Native American populations. We will assess the particular perinatal depression training needs of DSHS social service/behavioral health providers outside of First Steps. We will adapt the training modules for different provider types and pilot test modules with representatives from First Steps, DSHS Regions and other groups. The content of the courses will be developed into modules for online training and web-based module development will be initiated.
