Project Description:
The Council and the CDD agree to undertake the following collaborative effort for the purpose of providing registrations and travel for persons with developmental disabilities and/or their families to attend the 2007 Annual Southwest Conference on Disability. 1. CDD will develop and describe the criteria used to determine the conference attendees who will receive financial assistance to attend the conference. 2. CDD will identify the total number of individuals provided financial assistance to attend the conference and provide a breakdown of the total as follows: a. Number of participants that are individuals with developmental disabilities. b. Number of participants that are parents/immediate family members of persons with developmental disabilities. c. Number of participants that are legal guardians of persons with developmental disabilities. 3. CDD will provide a breakdown of the contract funds utilized. The breakdown will indicate amounts used for attendee registration fees, travel and lodging expenses for attendees, and any other forms of assistance provided to make it possible for persons with developmental disabilities, their family members and/or guardians to attend the conference. 4. CDD will complete a final report consisting of the standard components required by NMDDPC, including a narrative report inclusive of the information required und this Scope of Work. At the conferences, people with disabilities; researchers; family members; service providers; advocates; staff of federal, state and local government agencies and students from New Mexico, the Southwest and the nation come together to learn from each other, share ideas and the latest research findings and discuss and debate current policies and issues concerning disability. The Southwest Conference on Disability is a fragrance-free event.
