Preventing Violence-Building Healthy Schools and Communities: The Kansas Positive Behavior Support Project
Project Description:
The proposed project will carry out the necessary steps to conduct two KSDE demonstration projects with self-selected Kansas school districts. Demonstration Project One-School wide Positive Behavior Support (SWPBS) Implementation will be focused on design and implementation of the professional development activities and monitoring/evaluation steps necessary to guide and support three school districts in initiating an effective evidence based approach to enhanced student and school outcomes. Demonstration Project Two-SWPBS Maintenance will provide the professional development, technical assistance, and guiding framework for continued SWPBS implementation, monitoring, and evaluation in two school districts through efforts that clearly lay out the processes and mechanisms for achieving ongoing fidelity and maintenance of SWPBS strategies.
