APS-Consultation/Training on Autism
Project Description:
The Center for Development & Disability will provide consultation and training to the Albuquerque Public Schools Autism Resource Team in the following areas:
1) Best practices in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
2)Technical assistance and consultation to teachers and other school personnel
3) Utilize team resources
4) Functioning as a team
5) Identifying long-range goals and outcomes
6) Measure effects of consultation on team members, as well as students
7) Develop a needs assessment to identify possible training options
Weekly meetings with the entire team are planned; action planning will result from those meetings. Consultation may include visits to classrooms and teachers to observe team members' interactions.
