Dr. Schiwal covered statistics relating to individuals with disabilities and their rates of victimization of sexual abuse/sexual violence. She addressed factors that contribute to these higher risks, challenges with reporting, and societal perceptions that contribute to the lack of education around this issue. Dr. Schiwal shared resources and best practices for mandatory reporters working with the disability community, as well as training and information for individuals with disabilities.
