Caregivers' Perspective on Disclosing the Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder to their Children
Product Description:
This qualitative study examined how U.S. caregivers disclose autism diagnosis to their children. Sixteen female caregivers participated in semi-structured interviews analyzed using thematic analysis. Four themes emerged: language of disclosure, disclosure as a journey, purpose of disclosure, and process of disclosure.
