Medication mistakes are the most common and preventable errors in healthcare, costing $42 billion annually in the United States. This underscores that medication compliance is not only a matter of personal safety but also a public health concern. Children with neurodevelopmental disabilities (NDDs) are particularly at risk for medication mismanagement and nonadherence due to their increased need for medical, mental health, and other support services.
