Over the next 25 years, the numbers of siblings of individuals with disabilities 60 years and older will triple. But what do we know about adult siblings and their needs? In this article, we describe the state-of-the-art in resaerch on siblings of individuals with disabilities. Themes noted include methodological challenges, measurement, developmental and life-course perspectives, mediators-moderators, cultural and sub-cultural issues, and balanced views.
