This is the participant's guide that accompanies the trainer's guide (see additional product information)for the Welcome the Children Second Language Development and Assessment training session. It is not intended as a "stand alone" manual. The manual provides handouts for the seven-hour training session presented through the Welcome the Children project. The module, Second Language Development and Assessment in Early Childhood, covers the first and second language acquisition process for young children, assessing children for language difference vs. language delay, and strategies for working with families to reinforce classroom activities.
