Where Passion Meets Purpose: Spotlight on a New Student Leader

March 2, 2026

Aggie ACHIEVEMates is proud to welcome one of its newest student leaders, Jacob Staleski, who recently stepped into the role of Outreach Officer. When he learned he had been selected last Wednesday, he was over the moon. “I was so excited to find out I became an Outreach Officer for Aggie ACHIEVEMates,” he shared, already eager to assist with major events like The Big Event and Sing for a Ring.

His motivation for joining the organization in the first place was simple: he genuinely loves it. “I love the org and all of the events and meetings,” he said. Now, as an officer, he’s ready to represent ACHIEVEMates with pride and purpose. “I’m really looking forward to working with everyone and being a leader who helps the group succeed.”

As he steps into leadership, he’s most excited to keep attending events, support his fellow members, and help everyone feel safe, happy, and motivated. He described himself as someone who never misses a meeting or event—and it shows. His enthusiasm, campus knowledge, and ability to keep others energized are key strengths he brings to the position.

Leadership isn’t new to him either. He previously served as a leader at Camp Ascendigo in Colorado, where he hopes to return next summer. That experience shaped his ability to support others, especially new ACHIEVEMate members. “I like to welcome them to TAMU and ask if they’re having a great first-year journey as an Aggie,” he said. “I want them to feel like part of the Aggie family.”

Being part of Aggie ACHIEVE and ACHIEVEMates has helped him grow year after year. “I keep improving and showing how good I’m doing and that I really want to be here,” he reflected. He credits his coworkers and supervisor at the Memorial Student Center for also encouraging him along the way.

Some of his favorite memories so far include attending Midnight Yell and cheering at football games with fellow members and officers.  These moments truly capture the spirit of belonging he values.
Balancing school, leadership, and social life is no small task, but he has a plan. “I time manage everything,” he said proudly. “I have a time management plan that I closely follow.”

When asked about the legacy he hopes to leave, his answer was filled with heart: “I want them to remember me as someone who was supportive, helped others, and made sure everyone had a great time at the events.”

In his own words, Aggie ACHIEVEMates is special because “it’s part of the Aggie ACHIEVE Program and it’s a great org for others to join.” And thanks to leaders like him, that sense of community and purpose shines brighter than ever.
