“There was a wonderful outpouring of support from UConn health officials and staff, the Greater Hartford arts community, and persons with disabilities for the exhibit and the work of the artists from Art Connection Studio,” says Mary Beth Bruder, PhD, Director of the UConn UCEDD. We would like to thank the artists, staff, and everyone involved who brought this exhibit to fruition.
On April 18th, the UConn Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) celebrated the opening of the This-Ability art exhibit at UConn Health. A collaboration between the UConn UCEDD and Art Connection Studio (ACS), the exhibit features art created by artists from ACS, a vocational art program for people with disabilities. The reception welcomed Bruce T. Liang, M.D., CEO of UConn Health, Jeffrey Hines, M.D., Chief Diversity Officer of UConn Health, and Andre Rochester, UConn Health’s Art Curator and local artist.
