Last summer, the Developmental Disabilities Network Journal put out a call for submissions on a special issue highlighting the DD Network. The resulting issue offers a revealing look into the network’s critical impact on society.
The latest issue of the Developmental Disabilities Network Journal highlights the critical work of the DD Network, featuring perspectives from UCEDDs, DD Councils, Protection & Advocacy agencies, and LEND programs.
The issue explores how these partners collaborate to advance disability rights, improve services, expand employment and education opportunities, and support families and communities.
From supported decision-making laws and employment initiatives to LEND family mentorship programs and inclusive higher education, the articles show how the DD Network creates meaningful change nationwide.
“UCEDDs have been instrumental in advancing inclusive early childhood practices, accessible healthcare, and community living models across states,” Wappett wrote. “The Think College initiative—rooted in UCEDD-led research—has expanded opportunities for postsecondary education, with more than 300 higher education programs now available across the U.S.”
Read these accounts, and so much more, in the latest issue of the DDNJ.
