New Icon-based Tools Support Accessible Voting

The UNH Institute on Disability is excited to share a recent collaboration focused on making voting more accessible for everyone in our community. The Institute on Disability partnered with Angela Fletcher and the New Hampshire Leadership Series voting education team, Disability Rights Center New Hampshire, and the New Hampshire Council on Developmental Disabilities to develop a new set of icon-based voting request tools.

These icons are designed to support individuals who may need assistance during the voting process. Whether someone needs help registering to vote or needs support while casting a ballot, the tools provide a clear, simple way to communicate those needs to poll workers. This resource is an important step toward promoting accessible and inclusive civic participation across New Hampshire.
