John Butterworth recently co-authored an article published in the Journal of Vocational Rehabilitation that examined how employment consultants and employment program managers adjusted to provide services to jobseekers and employees with intellectual and developmental disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. John worked with researchers from the Institute on Community Integration at the University of Minnesota who conducted semi-structured interviews with 11 employment consultants and program managers in 10 states to learn about how the pandemic forced them to rethink and innovate how they support jobseekers with IDD.

John worked with researchers from the Institute on Community Integration at the University of Minnesota who conducted semi-structured interviews with 11 employment consultants and program managers in 10 states to learn about how the pandemic forced them to rethink and innovate how they support jobseekers with IDD. According to the researchers, lessons learned from the pandemic about adaptive and innovative supports can be used to rethink and improve employment services in a post-pandemic world and during future disruptive events.
