iGROW: Exploring Healthcare Careers

January 23, 2026

The Center on Disability and Development’s iGROW West Texas students had an incredible opportunity last month to tour the pharmacy and radiology departments at Hendrick Health!

They got a behind-the-scenes look at:

Sterile IV bag production in the pharmacy
How radioactive particles help detect and treat diseases, explained by a nuclear medicine doctor
Live demos from ultrasound technicians showing how sound waves reveal what’s inside the body

Students were excited to learn that many of these programs can be completed in just a few months—and some even qualify for the Career Journey Program, which offers tuition reimbursement for specific career paths!
