Brewing Success: Aggie ACHIEVE Alumnus Matthew Finds His Perfect Blend

October 30, 2026

Brewing Success: Aggie ACHIEVE Alumnus Matthew Finds His Perfect Blend From cheering on the Aggies at Midnight Yell to serving customers with a smile, Aggie ACHIEVE alumnus Matthew Philips continues to build a life filled with purpose, confidence, and community. Today, Matthew works as a cashier at Bitty & Beau's Coffee in Frisco, Texas where he enjoys greeting customers, taking orders, preparing drinks, warming and plating food, and helping keep the coffee shop running smoothly. One of his favorite parts of the job is interacting with customers—including many Aggies—and working just steps away from The Star, the Dallas Cowboys' world headquarters and practice facility.

Matthew credits Aggie ACHIEVE with helping him become more independent while providing valuable work experience through internships at the Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center, the Student Recreation Center, and Aggieland Outfitters. Those experiences strengthened his customer service skills and prepared him for his current role in the hospitality industry.

Outside of work, Matthew stays active by competing in Special Olympics basketball, bowling, volleyball, and Topgolf. One of his proudest accomplishments since graduating from Aggie ACHIEVE was winning a gold medal in basketball at the Special Olympics competition in Houston.

When asked what advice he would give current Aggie ACHIEVE students, Matthew encourages them to make the most of every opportunity. "Have a lot of fun because your college years go by really fast," he shared. "Go to Midnight Yell, attend the games, join organizations, and play intramural sports."

Looking ahead, Matthew hopes to continue growing in his career while working toward living independently. To him, success means enjoying his job, building friendships, and continuing to grow personally and professionally.

We are proud of all Matthew has accomplished and look forward to seeing what the future holds for this outstanding Aggie ACHIEVE alumnus. Gig 'em, Matthew!
