The evaluation domains and data sources used for FY2023 evaluation activities;
Preliminary findings from primary and secondary data analysis;
Progress made in program objectives of Training, State Systems, and Research awardees; and
Next steps for the evaluation.
Carla Bozzolo

Project Director
Carla Bozzolo, MPH is a Principal Research Associate at Westat and the Project Director for the Autism CARES evaluation. Ms. Bozzolo is a seasoned researcher with over 17 years of experience conducting federally funded quantitative and qualitative research. Throughout her career, she has studied research issues such as public health, behavior change, health services, and measuring of customer and employee satisfaction. She plays critical roles as a project director, project manager, task lead, and qualitative evaluation researcher for her large portfolio of projects related to family support, health, and education. Ms. Bozzolo has supported clients at Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and many other government agencies. She holds an M.P.H. in behavioral and community health from the University of Maryland, College Park, where her thesis focused on the nonurgent uses of the emergency department.
Elizabeth Taylor

Deputy Project Director
Elizabeth Taylor, MSW, MPH is a Senior Research Associate and serves as the Deputy Project Director for the Autism CARES evaluation. Ms. Taylor is an experienced researcher with a decade of experience planning, implementing, and evaluating maternal and child health programs. In addition to her research experience, Ms. Taylor has extensive experience in interdisciplinary clinical programs and worked as a clinical social worker at a MCHB-funded Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Other Related Disabilities (LEND) program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham for nearly 4 years where she directed the Regional Autism Network aimed at serving families affected by autism and developing the autism workforce through continuing education and technical assistance. In addition to her clinical experience, her areas of expertise include program evaluation, mixed-methods research and evaluation, and qualitative data collection and analysis with a focus on increasing access to healthcare services for vulnerable populations, increasing the capacity of the primary care workforce, children and youth with special healthcare needs, and autism. She holds an M.S.W. with a concentration in children and adolescents from the University of Alabama and an M.P.H. with a concentration in maternal and child health policy and leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
