ICI Webinar: How to Build College-based Transition Services That Work

Wednesday, December 17, 2025

3:00 PM - 4:00 PM ET

Location: Zoom

Format: Virtual

Join Maria Paiewonsky, director of the MA Center for Inclusive Higher Education and Transition, for a conversation about how schools, colleges, and agencies can work together to help every student take their next step—college.

College-based transition services (CBTS), also called inclusive dual enrollment, give students with intellectual disabilities the chance to keep learning, working, and building independence on a college campus while still eligible for transition services. Students take part in college classes, campus activities, and work experiences alongside their peers without disabilities — contributing toward their transition goals under IDEA.

Bringing CBTS to life takes coordination, creativity, and shared leadership among college, school district, and adult disability services staff. Whether you’re just getting started or working to strengthen existing partnerships, this webinar offers real-world strategies you can put into practice right away.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Prepare students, families, and educators for CBTS
  • Build strong college–school partnerships
  • Clarify roles across agencies and programs
  • Connect student goals to meaningful, measurable outcomes
