College-based transition services (CBTS), also called inclusive dual enrollment, give students with intellectual disabilities the chance to keep learning, working, and building independence on a college campus while still eligible for transition services. Students take part in college classes, campus activities, and work experiences alongside their peers without disabilities — contributing toward their transition goals under IDEA.
Bringing CBTS to life takes coordination, creativity, and shared leadership among college, school district, and adult disability services staff.
