Community Education and Dissemination Council (CEDC) in Plain Language

The Community Education and Dissemination Council (CEDC) is a group that focuses on how to share information with the public. "Dissemination" is a fancy word for getting important information out to the people who need it most.

This group speaks up for the community. They help decide the best ways to teach people about disability rights and services across the country.

How the CEDC Helps

The CEDC works with university centers to make sure they do a good job of talking to their local communities. This council helps AUCD by:

  • Sharing Knowledge: Reaching goals to make sure everyone has the facts they need. Training: Teaching members of the network about new and important topics.
  • Improving Skills: Helping centers get better at teaching and sharing their work.
  • Giving Advice: Finding common problems and suggesting solutions to the AUCD leaders.
  • Including Everyone: Making sure people with disabilities from all different backgrounds are involved.

Who is in this Group?

The council is made up of people from AUCD centers who are in charge of "Community Education" or "Information." Each center picks one person who knows the most about how their program shares information with the public. You can find the leaders of this council on the left side of the webpage.
