Our Mission
The Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) is a group that helps people with disabilities and their families live better lives. We work with a big network of centers at universities and hospitals across every U.S. state.
Our job is to help these centers work together so that people with disabilities can be included in their communities, stay healthy, and have the support they need. We support over 150 special programs that focus on:
Learning and Training: Teaching new leaders how to help others.
Research: Finding new ways to solve issues people with disabilities face.
Helping Families: Providing direct services and healthcare.
How We Help
AUCD acts as a bridge between schools and the community. We do this by:
Speaking Up: AUCD talks with government leaders to make sure programs for people with disabilities receive the funding they need. We take the lead on big issues that affect people with disabilities.
Sharing Info: We collect stories and data to show what the network is doing in the community.
Teaching: We provide expert advice and training to our members.
