Clinical: ASCEND Nursing Education
Project Description:
In a collaboration with Transitional Care Medicine, provides training to inpatient and ED pediatric and adult nurses on bettter supporting patients with IDD. ASCEND aims to address health inequity for people with disabilities receiving care in adult and pediatric inpatient and Emergency Department settings. Practicing nurses are engaged in three-tiered educational experiences (i.e., didactic, simulation, match with lived experience) to increase their knowledge, clinical comfort, and disability-related attitudes on care.
