AK Community Integrated "PASS" Project
Project Description:
The Alaska Community Integrated PASS project will improve personal care assistant services and infuse the system with the concepts of individual dignity, choice, and consumer input and control.
To accomplish this, the project will:
1. Develop statewide training standards and competency testing for personal assistants working in agency-based PCA programs.
2. Provide technical assistance and training to provider agencies and consumers regarding the Consumer Directed PCA program and the concepts of individual dignity, choice, and consumer input and control.
3. Provide increased training opportunities for personal assistants.
The expected benefits of this project include increased recruitment and retention of personal care assistants and an increase in consumer choice and control of services.
