Maternal and Child Health—Leadership Education, Advocacy & Research Network (MCH-LEARN)
Project Description:
The Maternal and Child Health Leadership, Education, Advocacy, and Research Network (MCH-LEARN) program is designed to be a long-term training program (minimum of 300 hours) for all trainees. The program places a strong emphasis on understanding and conducting research to advance scientific knowledge, influence policy, and inform the development of clinical and community intervention programs. In addition to conducting original research, the trainees engaged in professional development seminars, skill-building workshops, advocacy activities, and mentorship. The scholars present their research projects at two conferences: the Johns Hopkins Career, Academic, and Research Experiences for Students (C.A.R.E.S.) conference, a national conference, and the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS).
