Project Description:
The Early Childhood Center (ECC) is playing a pivotal role in supporting early intervention professionals across the state in the implementation of the Family Guided Routines Based Intervention (FGRBI) model. This innovative approach is designed to enhance the development of young children with disabilities and their families by embedding intervention within daily routines and activities. FGRBI focuses on empowering parents as the primary facilitators of their child's learning and development, thereby fostering meaningful and sustainable growth. At the heart of the ECC's support for FGRBI is the provision of comprehensive training, coaching and resource development for early intervention professionals. These training sessions equip practitioners with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively engage families and apply the FGRBI model in various contexts. Through workshops, webinars, and hands-on coaching, the ECC emphasizes the importance of understanding each family's unique routines and preferences. By tailoring interventions to fit seamlessly into daily life, professionals can create a more natural learning environment for children. In addition to training and community building, the ECC partners with Florida State University to provide a wealth of resources that practitioners can utilize in their work with families. These resources are tailored to help professionals assess family routines, identify goals, and develop effective strategies that promote child engagement and learning. The ECC's commitment to making these resources readily available ensures that early intervention professionals feel supported in their efforts to implement FGRBI effectively. Finally, the ECC actively evaluates the impact of FGRBI implementation through data collection and analysis. By assessing outcomes and gathering feedback from families and professionals, the center can continuously refine its training and support strategies. This commitment to evidence-based practices ensures that early intervention professionals are equipped with the most effective tools and methodologies. In summary, the Early Childhood Center is instrumental in supporting early intervention professionals statewide to implement the Family Guided Routines Based Intervention model. Through comprehensive training, resource provision, community building, mentorship, and a strong emphasis on family engagement, the ECC is fostering a collaborative and effective approach to early childhood intervention that benefits families and children across the state.
