Project Description:
High Demand for Pathways for Students with Special Needs
While the Indiana General Assembly has dedicated significant time and resources to supporting the growth of CTE in the state of Indiana, there is not currently a model for providing CTE opportunities specifically to students on an Alternate Diploma/Certificate of Completion track who may not be suited to the standard Next Level Programs of Study Pathways.
In response to this, the Office of CTE, within the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, partnered with the Center on Community Living and Careers (CCLC) at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community (IIDC) to build a pilot curriculum in Early Childhood Education, an area of interest identified within the target population. The micro-credentialing program was built on a previous grant to the CCLC funded from September 2023-April 2024. We will continue this partnership from May 2024-April 2025 so that the CCLC can work with two districts to pilot the Early Childhood Education micro-credentialing CTE program.
Project Scope From the period, May 01, 2024–April 30, 2025
