Welcome the Children - CCDF
Project Description:
Partners for Inclusive Communities (Partners) has been providing training to early childhood professionals to encourage inclusion and promote greater understanding of inclusion of children with disabilities and cultural humility since 2003 through the Welcome the Children (WTC) project. It is funded by the AR Early Childhood Division with pass through funding from federal Child Care Development Funds (CCDF). The goal of Welcome the Children is to provide early childhood professionals with quality training, coaching and resources for supportive approaches to dual language learners, inclusion of children with disabilities, and communication. Along with early childhood training and technical assistance, WTC provides the Arkansas Bilingual Interpreter Credential in Education (ABICE) Training Course for oral language interpreters who work in educational settings that serve children birth through 12th grade. This credential is recognized by both early childhood and K-12 education in AR.
