Project Description:
Background
Montgomery County Parks has over 36,000 acres and 421 park sites. Their mission statement reads Protect and interpret our valuable natural and cultural resources; balance demand for recreation with the need for conservation; offer various enjoyable recreational activities that encourage healthy lifestyles; and provide clean, safe, and accessible places. Volunteers play a significant role in assisting Montgomery County Parks in achieving this mission. The Volunteer office was very proactive in developing online learning to help these volunteers understand the areas in which they would be working. The online offerings however, are not accessible and have dated technology.
Goal and Objectives
The overall goal of this project is is to develop a state-of-the-art, accessible, online education program for volunteers in the Montgomery County Parks. Eppley will also be developing a Learning Management System that will be accessed by all learners.
The objectives for the this project are:
Revision and redevelopment of existing online courses
Engaging users through interactive online learning that promotes content retention
Hosting and maintaining courses on a Learning Management System
Ensuring learner access and completion is recorded in the LMS.
