Conduct literature review to gather and collate available information on participation of people with disabilities participation in clinical research. High level topics for potential include: Human Bias • Define and demonstrate potential areas of human bias in access to healthcare and subsequently access to clinical trial participation Systemic Bias • Evaluate how each of the following sets of processes and systems come together to produce barriers to CT participation for PWD: • Research doctrines and consent structures (Belmont Report) • Social determinants to health Structural Bias • Evaluate how structures come together to produce barriers to CT participation for PWD: o Clinical trial infrastructure – IRBs o Federal and state policies that preclude access o Lack of enforcement of existing federal and state regulations requiring access
