Project Description:
This agreement between the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) and the University of Nevada, Reno, Nevada PBIS Technical Assistance Center, College of Education ("University") will provide intensive positive behavior support services to individuals in the Las Vegas area with high behavioral health needs. All referrals for services will be received through Desert Regional Center.
The below outlined consultation model is intended to assist teams and existing direct supports in creating and implementing effective behavior intervention plans. All services will be delivered by a Licensed Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) using the Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) model.
Services to Include:
o Case coordination
o Team facilitation
o Full functional behavior and environmental assessments
o Written comprehensive function-based behavior intervention plan
o Staff/parent training
o Clinical reporting
o Data collection and oversight
o Team meeting participation
Access Criteria: Dual ID/DD and mental health (MH) diagnosis prioritized; team must be formed and willing to participate; current behavior support plan is in place but not adequately meeting need; current placement is disrupted or individual is at risk for being sent out of state. Current caregivers must be willing to participate in teaming and intervention delivery.
