Project Description:
Goal/Objectives: To address the continuing disparities in services and opportunities for full inclusion experienced by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families (PIDD/Fs) from historically underrepresented communities, JFK Partners will expand its training program for health professionals and advocates from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Preparation in the JFK Partners curriculum will be supplemented with new experiences with the Colorado Diversity Community of Practice (CoP). Objectives include: a) Training two DFs in didactic and practical experiences in 2017-18; b) Mentoring DFs in community-based Capstone Projects, and c) Implementing recruitment of at least one DF for 2018-19.
