Showcase Nevada 2014

Project Description:
One major goal of this project will be continued support for the development and coordination of a statewide conference to be offered in the spring of 2014. This 2.5-day conference will provide an opportunity for afterschool professionals and other practitioners providing services to youth in Nevada to discuss afterschool program development, tying programs to school improvement and curriculum and sustainability focusing on creating a unified, statewide network. Conference speakers will be selected from proposal submissions and will focus on the areas of Student Academic Success in Reading and Math, Increasing Positive Student Behaviors, Enrichment Activities, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), Civics Education, Family and Community Support in Literacy and Related Educational Services, Health and Fitness, and Drug/Alcohol Prevention Activities.
