Gene Expression Analysis in a Neuroinflammation Model of Autism
Project Description:
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurosensory developmental disorder with both genetic and environmental etiologies. Increasing evidence points to immunological dysfunction in ASD that may result in inflammatory-like state. Mouse models for prenatal exposure to maternal infection or inflammation have shown that the challenged offspring demonstrate an altered behavioral phenotype characteristic of ASD. The objective of this pilot study is to identify the changes in gene expression in brains of offspring challenged by Maternal Immune Activation in mice.
