Health Care Professional Training Project
Project Description:
The Sonoran University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service (UCEDD) will educate and train medical students, residents and other health care professionals to provide competent, caring services to individuals with developmental disabilities (DD). The Sonoran UCEDD has identified the development of systems of competent health care for people with DD as an important goal. To achieve that goal, pre-service training of health care professionals is crucial. Activities to be carried out under the project include: Developing a Medical School Curriculum on Disability; Interprofessional Conference on Disability; and planning and development of a medical school elective on developmental disability.
