Incorporating Peer Modeling into Social Skills Training for Children and Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders
Project Description:
The purpose of the project is two-fold. The primary goal is to provide enhanced services (i.e., peer models) to an existing social skills training program for school-aged children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders and co-morbid Disruptive Behavior Disorders. The secondary goal is to develop a peer model training program for typically developing children and adolescents, and then distribute a videotaped presentation of the training program for educational purposes. The proposed project will promote acquisition, maintenance, and generalization of social skills beyond the clinic and home setting.
