Project Description:
Project for New Mexico Children and Youth Who Are DeafBlind is a statewide program designed to provide technical assistance, training, distance education, and networking information to families, service providers, and individuals birth through 21, who are deafblind.
The project also sponsors several online web courses. "Overview of Deafblindness with an Emphasis in Communication" is co-sponsored by the University of New Mexico's Special Education Department, Emphasis in Mental Retardation and Severe Disabilities. This course is designed for families, individuals, and educational teams working with an individual who is deafblind.
"Assessment and Interventions: Case Studies in Deaf-Blindness" is a web course developed to encourage participants to discuss assessment and intervention strategies through problem-based learning and case analysis on a variety of children and youth who are deafblind.
