Project Description:
The South Dakota Deaf-Blind Project is located within the Center for Disabilities, Dept. of Pediatrics at the USD School of Medicine and Health Sciences. It is part of a federal initiative to ensure the unique needs of children who are deaf-blind are met with high-quality, appropriate services. The Project is designed to provide technical assistance to families, educational and medical personnel, and other service providers who work or live with a child, birth through 21 years old, who has a combination of a vision and hearing loss. The Wegner Health Science Center has resources available for families and professionals to check out related to the Deaf-Blind program. In addition to the program?s website, which offers resources and topic pages, follow the programs Facebook, Twitter, and You Tube?s pages.
