Family-Professional Partnership Project
Project Description:
The family-professional partnership project focuses on the development of an online professional development program for early intervention practitioners. It responds to the need for early intervention programs to provide professional development for new personnel, as well as to provide ongoing professional development to staff for the implementation of a primary service provider model. It also is aimed at pre-service usage in terms of the incorporation of the courses and lessons into pre-service curricula.
The program which goes by the name of Early Years consists of online courses and onsite coaching to enable practitioners to apply what they learn in the online courses to work with young children and their families. Key features include videos of families and practitioners working together, demonstrations of evidence-based practice, research summaries, policy highlights, and sample scripts to use in explaining procedural safeguards to families.
