Community Education Department
Project Description:
The Community Education department has two objectives. The first is to introduce healthcare professionals (fellows, resident and trainees) to a variety of community-based prograsm and agencies, to contribute to their udnerstanding of the importance of interagency and intersystem collaboration. The second objective is to provide education, technical assistance and consultation by LEND faculty and fellows to professionals and consumers throughout the region. Through LEND community and Education Liaison program, fellows share their expertise in the service of improving resources for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and related disorders and their families.
Community services are provided related to children with special needs and their families. Early Head Start, HHI, Family collaboration, REACH and TTA are just a few of many collaborating programs in addition to legal and advocacy partnerships, such as the Eductaion Law Center and Philadelphia for Children & Youth.
